Lord have mercy! If it rains at one more wedding this year I’m going to start showing up in welly boots and poncho {and believe me that would be pretty unattractive}. It seems to me like mother nature needs to work on getting her sexy back!! Doesn’t she know that slicked back , damp, and down right wet look was so 10 years ago! Bring on the sunshine please!!!

Ashley and Jeff’s Carillon Wedding had a little bit of both! Just when we thought the day was going to be soaked- they skies cleared. Hallelujah right!!!

potty mouth

So last Saturday I was enthralled in a project and the mini’s were playing. Harper hurt her foot while tromping around in her princess high heels and Mia proceeded to take care of her. She worked on a toilet paper and tape bandage for a while and then disappeared. WELL- after a long stint of productive silence my ears perked up. As I rounded the corner I saw this:

Harper stripped down to her undies with her feet in the potty! Mia being the loving big sister was holding her steady as she said “don’t worry sissy, all the germs will be washed off”!!! REALLY!!!

I stood there stunned and slightly tickled. I asked Mia- what was going on and she proclaimed “We’re cleaning her booboo. I didn’t know how to turn on the bath tub, but don’t worry we put plenty of bubble in the potty”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes total sense, right!

Since Harper was already submerged I took the opportunity to shoot!!! {followed by a sanitizing bath!!!} Oh- well!!! Happy parenting!

Rosemary Beach will forever be one of my favorite venues! With beautiful light dancing across the architecture, impeccable vendors, and sweet southern brides, how can you go wrong? One one hand Caroline and Henson’s wedding allowed me to visit, yet again…and on the other hand it allowed me to go home! At this point I’ve shot 100′s of weddings and it’s not a lie when I say each one is unique in it’s own right! This particular week I was tickled pink to my very first donut-hole cake and to learn that white boys really can get air!

east side vs. west side

It’s 12:03- sure I should be dressed….but I’m not. Adorned in pajamas I’m soaking up every second of home. This is the first day in a long time with no appointments, flights, pickups, drop offs, alarms, and shoots. Sure- the normal activities will resume tomorrow when I jump on my Boca Grande bound airplane , but for now…the house is quiet. Well…minus the undeniable sound of my dog drinking out of the toilet bowl.

Here re some beauties from Alison + Nick’s west side e-sesh. Yes- I shot on the “west side” {pretend like I’m tossing up a hand sign} again. Just like a hip hop star- I too have my own east vs. west battle! I live on the east side {insert another hand sign} and adore it…but you can’t deny the raw beauty of the industrial west. Hmmm…the rivalry continues!

Man-oh-man! It amazes me what you can do when you put your mind to it! I’m definitely a “do-er”. I don’t think, ponder, question, or waiver…I make up my mind and DO! During on of my many Florida, Georgia drives…some where in between smoothie on my lap and belting out “love is a battlefield”…I convinced my self that I needed yet another big challenge. Yes- it’s MARATHON time people. I’m doing it! My legs are warming up, my playlist are being assembled, and I’m going to load up with coffee and peanut butter {fuel of champions}. This “do-er’s” mind is set! Anybody wanna join me?! I’m thinking November 3rd- Savannah!

Pre-drive and epiphany…I had been in Watercolor! I spent the evening with Jennifer and Paul…wondering around my FL stomping grounds!!! It was a pretty night, with a pretty couple!

It’s spring break here which means the mini’s are out of school…yes…even preschools are on break! This means that the house is full of constant chatter, noise, and liveliness. I’ve been in stitches listening to them play- this morning I asked Mia {6} to get Harper {2} dressed. All of a sudden I heard a huge sign, followed by “Mommmm, she looks pregnant in everything I put on her. This is impossible!!!!!” . This paired with Harper’s new phrase of “have mercy” and I’m giggling up a storm!

In the midst of crazy I’ve just finished up Ziem and Milan’s wedding. Ziem {an Austin based photographer herself} is from Florida and traveled back for her Vietnamese nuptials. The couple was already married in an Indian ceremony but decided to to make it official in both faiths.The day was sprinkled with as much color as laughter!

I’ve been sitting on this blog post for months now! Just like a proud hen- I’ve cooked this birdie and it’s ready to hatch! This luxe event will hit the stands soon in glossy mag but first I wanted have a little show and tell. Jaime and Ashley’s wedding was at The Ringling Museum of Art, in Sarasota, FL. One look at the venue and you’ll understand why I was in a photographer’s paradise. I think I literally ran around for the first 20 minutes wide eyed and giddy! Keren Lifrak was the event designer/mastermind behind the soiree and did nothing short of AMAZING!!!
